Greenbriar Luxury Apartments of East Patchogue discriminated based on Source of Income
On May 6, 2021, the Suffolk County Human Rights Commission (SCHRC) found that Greenbriar Luxury Apartments and Marbil Investors, LLC, discriminated against individuals with housing vouchers in violation of the Source of Income provision of the Suffolk County Human Rights Law based on a complaint brought by Long Island Housing Services, Inc. (LIHS). This is the first decision of the SCHR Commission based on the Suffolk law. (more…)

Fair Housing Test Coordinator opening
The Fair Housing Test Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in developing and implementing Long Island Housing Services’ fair housing enforcement activities in conjunction with other Fair Housing Program staff. The Coordinator will report directly to and be supervised by the Deputy Director or designated staff. Experience in analysis, research, investigation, public presentations, banking/lending and conducting training. Bilingual Spanish-English skills are required. Salary $42,250 and generous benefits.
